Drinking and Driving – Always a Bad Combo - Pattaya People

On Sunday at 5am, the Pattaya Police Radio Communication Center was notified by Khun Met-tra Pha-ti-se-na, aged 46, the owner of a house number 21/9 Moo 12, on Soi 4 of Wat Boon-karn-ja-na-ram road, that a sedan had collided with her front gate, resulting in an injury. The rescue volunteers were summoned, and Once Police arrived, they found a detached house on 50 square wah of land. The front gate, 4 meters wide and 2 meters high, had been smashed by a TOYOTA Altis sedan, which was also damaged. The injured driver was Mr. Mark Michael Black, aged 26, a Thai-English national. He was drunk and bleeding on his head. The medics quickly administered first aid to Mark,  and  while taking him to the hospital, Mark saw his girlfriend, jumped off the rescue truck and walked over to his Thai girlfriend to start complaining and arguing with her, until Police had to stop the squabble.

Mark stated that he is an owner of an apartment in Pattaya, and early that evening, he and his girlfriend went to have drink at his friend’s house on Soi Chaiyapruk, with his girlfriend driving the car. Then he became drunk and started to quarrel with his girlfriend, and a short time later they headed back home. Since he was intoxicated, his girlfriend drove the car. But on the way back home, the quarrel resumed, so his girlfriend hopped out of the car. At this point, he had to drive the car himself, but lacking presence of mind, he drove his auto into the front gate of the house. Then he called his girlfriend to meet him at the scene.

The owner of the house told Police that she and her husband were sleeping, when  suddenly they heard the collision at the front of the house. They ran out to check, and saw that the sedan had smashed into the gate, but there was no driver to be seen. Once the Police arrived, Mark walked out from a nearby grove and asked for help. Mark stated that he was the driver and would take responsibility for the accident, and now awaits further proceedings.
