Russian Outreach Rep Negative about Pattaya - Pattaya People

Mr. Andrey V. Dvornikov and representatives from the Russian Embassy in Bangkok paid a visit to Pattaya on Tuesday to take part in an outreach programme at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort on Pratamnak Hill.   Attending were representatives from Russian linked associations and business people from the Russian community living in and around Pattaya.  Representing Pattaya were officers from various Government Departments and Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing.   The meeting focussed on issues regarding the safety Russian tourists, which has been deemed lacking in recent years.  Each year there has been a steady build up of Russians visiting Thailand, now thousands of Russians flock to the land of smiles and especially to Pattaya to escape the winter bitter cold weather in Russia.  According to Mr. Dvornikov there has been a buildup of negative impressions towards safety procedures in Thailand as there has been an increase in crime occurring to Russian tourists, especially snatchings of bags, gold etc., a record number of burglaries happening at hotels.  He also protested against tourists having their passports seized, which he deemed illegal as they are the property of the Russian Government and blamed the negligence of the Thai Government and local authorities.  He also blamed the increase in crime with the loss of naval officers patrolling with local police, a policy that took place 10 years ago, and was effective in lowering the crime rate against Russian tourists.  He wished to see this procedure brought back for the safety of all Russians living or visiting Pattaya.

Domestic Fight Turns Tragic - Pattaya People

On Monday at 5:10 am, the Pattaya Police Deputy Suppressing Inspector Pol. Capt. Seksak Atorn-git-ja-wat went to deal with an attempted suicide at the front of Royal Hill Condominiums on Pratamnak Road. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was also contacted for assistance.

At the scene, the front of Building C, a woman identified as Miss Jutitip Sahng-wien, aged 45, was bleeding from her left arm, and left wrist, with a massive amount of blood on the ground, and she was holding a cutter blade.  Jutittip was passing out into a coma, and her foreign boyfriend was trying to help her. The rescuers immediately gave her first aid and took her to Banglamung Hospital.

A security guard Mr. Teerapat Laaboot, aged 18, reported that Jutatip came to visit her boyfriend as usual, but this time, she seemed to be quite drunk. A while after she went to the 5th Floor to see her boyfriend, the sounds of an argument started, and a bit later, Jutatip, cut and bleeding, was brought down by her boyfriend to ask for help. The cutter blade was seized and pictures taken as evidence, and further investigations will follow when Jutitip can make a full statement. The primary assumption the police made was that Jutitip slashed her arm and wrist to hurt her boyfriend’s feelings, after things did not go her way in the fight.

Burmese Thief Captured - Pattaya People

On Tuesday, the  Pattaya Police were notified of a burglary at the building behind Pattaya School number 8, and that the burglar was still hiding in the building. The Police then rushed to the scene.

When the Police arrived they found a 4 storey building, with the downstairs shop operating as a beauty parlor, and upstairs offering rooms for rent.  The officers discovered that 5 rooms had been broken into, and that the robber had swiped many valuable items. The building manager and neighbors blocked the entrance and exit to prevent the thief from escaping.

The Police and volunteers went to check a building nearby, which is a residence for Burmese workers. They found a suspicious fellow on the 2nd floor and arrested him, who was later identified as Saw Phoe Yay Khal, aged 30, from Burma, in possession of a shoulder bag containing a purse and cash.

The owner of the burgled building Khun Pra-pai Kit-ti-ta-non, said that while she was watching TV downstairs, she heard a sound upstairs like somebody breaking a glass. At first she did not feel alarmed, but later she told her son to take a look. When he found that the louvers on the 2nd floor were broken, he then went up to the 3rd floor and found the offender ransacking the property. When the crook saw her son, he tried to use a wooden stick to hit the son, so the son ran to notify the building manager and call the police. At the preliminary hearing, the thief denied everything, but the investigation will proceed.

Many Buffalos and Cows Stolen - Pattaya People

On Wednesday, the Sriracha Police was summoned by Mrs. Bahn-joeng Proem-rahk, aged 56, who lives in Bang-pra. She stated that her 2 buffalos had just been stolen. Their enclosure was broken on one side, but that was all she know about the theft.

A witness reported that the 2 buffaloes were brought over to the neighbor’s tapioca farm, then put on a pickup near the Khao Kheow Open Zoo Bridge, heading towards Bangkok at about 1 am.

The same area has seen many cows and buffalos stolen from a number of residents since September, as the prices of these animals have increased recently.

Mrs. Bahn-joeng could only file a complaint, and hope the police would be able to catch the thieves and bring her buffalos back to her. The pair of buffalos could be sold for as much as 100,000 baht, and she is now worried that she will have to spend 50,000 baht per buffalo, in order to have 2 buffalos again.

After Hours Theft at Banglamung Hospital - Pattaya People

On Wednesday right after midnight, the Banglamung Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Sub Lt. Pisarn Hoeng-fa-gaew were called by Banglamung Hospital staff to report a theft at the Hospital. The police went to investigate the hospital’s Patayatorn Building, where a donation box was placed.

This donation box, containing about 10,000 baht, had been moved to a corner, from its original location in front of the Out Patient Pharmaceutical Room, and was wide open.

The security guard on duty Mr. Pranom Kahntoe, aged 34 stated that he closed the building at 10 pm as usual, and remained on guard around the premises. About an hour after closing the building, the alarm went off, and they found the donation box ransacked.

A food vender nearby stated that she witnessed a dark skinned man, with his face covered by a surgical mask, acting like he was having problems with his bicycle. She saw him push the bike into a deep corner of the building, acting like he was going to fix the bicycle, and later saw him push it out again.  The CCTV cameras in the building were not functioning, and the police could not review any videos at cameras located at nearby stores, so had to wait till morning. The main assumption is that this thief must have been hiding in the building before the building was closed, and started stealing the money when the hospital staff left.

Hot Tempered Young Man Commits Suicide - Pattaya People

On Tuesday right after midnight, the Banglamung – Nongprue Sub-branch Police Investigating Inspector Pol. Lt. Jiragiat Tienchai were summoned to investigate a suicide at a house in Soi Porn-pra-pa-ni-mit 14. The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was also contacted for assistance.

In the bedroom upstairs of a 2-storey-wooden-house, the body of Mr. Chaimongkon Ratcha-prakoen, aged 22, wearing a black t-shirt, was lying on the bed, with his mother Mrs. Baantong Cheua-tade, aged 52 crying alongside his body. The rescue team immediately tried to resuscitate the man, while taking him to Banglamung Hospital.

Mrs. Baantong stated that they had argued about nonsense in early evening, and then her son drove away on a motorcycle for a while. When he returned, he was still fuming, as he had been a hot tempered person since he was a kid.

He came home, walked into the bedroom and slammed the door to get attention, but the mother and the rest of the family paid no attention, as they were eating dinner.

A while later, when he opened the door, her son-in-law Mr. Boonmee Sawangwong saw that Chaimongkon was hanging from the beam on the ceiling. It took some time to get Chaimongkon back down onto the bed, and by then Chaimongkon was already unconscious. The latest news given to the mother that night was that Chaimongkon did not make it, and the body awaits at the hospital to be picked up for a religious funeral.
