Potential Dangers to Chicken Farmers to Wage Increase Policy - Pattaya People

On Wednesday, the President of the Chicken Farmer Association held a meeting to discuss the proposed nationwide increase in basic wages to 300 baht a day for workers that will take effect in January 2013. Mrs. Chaweewan Kahmpa stated that this increase will cause major issues and protests with investors and the potential danger of workers being laid off.  Chicken farmers are already in dire needs and many will not survive this policy.  A petition will be sent to the local authorities to hopefully change their plans issued by the government.
