Police was called out on Monday evening to Soi Chaiyapruek in Jomtien to investigate a vicious knife attack on a Russian tourist. At the scene, Sawang Boriboon Rescue Team was attending to the wounds on Miss Jenniya Nikolina, aged 25, from Russia. She had received 5 knife cuts to her arms. She stated that she was on her way back to her hotel on Jomtien Beach when two Thai men on a motorcycle approached her and one threatened her with a knife whilst the other tried to grab her gold chain and purse. She fought back and in the process got stabbed before the thugs made a quick departure with her purse towards Sukhumvit Road. A radio call was made to patrol officers in the area, but to no avail, as both suspects had managed to escape the area. A report was made and CCTV footage will be examined in the hope of identifying both attackers.
