Monk Turns Thief - Pattaya People

On Wednesday, the Chonburi Police arrested Mr. Cha-non Jet-ka-si-korn aged 26, a monk from Wang-ta-ko temple, and Mr. Wit-ta-ya Saeng-kom, aged 22, after the deputy abbot of the temple filed a report to police that both of the suspects stole items from inside the temple, and sold them to get money for buying YABA.

Both suspects stole 36 100 year-old brass items, and then sold them at a secondhand shop, claiming that the abbot wanted to sell them. But the owner of the shop did not believe the culprits, and called the temple to verify their tale. After that, the Police were summoned, and arrested the two culprits.

Cha-non confessed to Police that he became a monk in this temple for a month, and since this temple is very quiet, with few visitors, he then asked his friend Wit-ta-ya to help steal the brass items in the temple to sell, as they could get about 200 Baht per kilo for the brass. The Police also administered urine tests to3other monks in the temple, and all proved positive for drug use. All the suspects were taken to the Police Station to await further legal proceedings.
