In readiness for the closer ties between the 10 member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2015, students at the Potisampan School in Naklua were treated to an exhibition on Friday morning to give them an understanding of what this union means for Thailand. The exhibition gave information about all countries in the ASEAN community, being Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand, and students learned of their politics, economy and cultural traditions. In 2015, all member countries will form a closer alliance similar to the European Union, with easier trading practices and allowing each country’s citizens to have the right to live and work in member states without red tape procedures.
